We have just completed a major refit of our Quest 31, 'Starquest' and would love to contact other Quest owners to compare experiences.

Hi, we have done a lot of upgrading and refurbishment to a Quest 31 Seaquince - it's still ongoing, when will it ever finish I ask? Love to chat to you, send me an e-mail. Don't worry if I take a while to reply, and going to France for a month and I don't know what the e-mail availability will be like but reply I eventually will. Where are you based - we're in Fareham.
Regards, Chris & Marie

Chris and Marie,

Thanks for the reply. We've managed to forget the password we gave the forum so for the moment can't access for e-mails but we hope to sort that out soon.

We are wondering if your boat is one of the two Quests we see from the road as we drive en route to Gosport, which is where we are moored?

Starquest was in a bit of a state when we bought her - sound but unloved. The moulding and mast are original but pretty much everything else has been changed from new engine and Sonic leg to galley sink. She's now in good shape and this year we hope to get lots of sea miles out of her -- last year's weather was dreadful!

We too love France and the plan is to head for St. Malo this summer.

Hope you get this in France - do get in touch when you have a mo.

All good wishes

Trevor & Jo

Hi Trevor and Jo,

Now back (just) from France and turning our attention to 'the boat' at last. Our Quest 'Seaquince' is a yellow hulled one moored up in Fareham creek - you can't see it from the main road as it's below the bend in the river downstream from the PME pontoons (by Fareham Sailing and MotorBoat club), you have to detour through the housing estate to see her.

Whereabouts is 'Starquest' moored in Gosport? We will look out for her as we go down Portsmouth harbour.

Have you sorted out your email yet?

Good sailing, Chris and Marie

am lightly refitting a 1980 quest. composting head, new cushions, electrical upgrade and general cleanup. want to relocate batteries with new electrical subpanel for "shop" in starboard aft berth area. trying to figure a way to balance weight being added on starboard side, and to lower center of gravity by relocating weight of batteries to sole of aft berths. any ideas?

I relocated our batteries on our Quest 31 - both the two 'domestic services' plus one 'engine start' battery/s - on the shelf under the chart table as I couldn't fit them into the engine bay, which I wanted to keep as clear as possible. The present location is low in the boat and in the centre longitudinally if a little to one side across the boat. Seems to work well there too.

Regards, ChrisH

Chris & Marie,

Have just seen your reply to ours ... sorry for delay but have been remiss in checking postings.

We are moored in Gosport Marina.

Would be pleased to invite you on board for a drink and chat sometime.

e-mail joandtrevor.01@btinternet.com

Hope to hear from you soon.

TRevor & Jo
